CLICK HERE to see our Pumpkin Carving video from Monday, October 27th.
We had a great time carving pumpkins with our volunteers! After we were done carving, students had to complete "pumpkin math!" Students had to count all the seeds from their pumpkin and then group them into groups of 4s, 5s and 10s. This was GREAT counting practice! Enjoy!

Happy Tuesday
This morning we started our monster glyph planning with Room 15.
We talked about favourite Halloween things (costumes, candies) and matched them to body parts. (Tristan).
We then worked in groups to start our glyph sentences.
In the afternoon Room 15 joined us again for Chapter 5 of Edward Tulane. (Jack).
In this chapter, two brothers named Martin and Amos grabbed Edward and took off his silk clothing and began to toss him around. (Vera).
I felt very sad when Edward was thrown overboard into the sea. (Taylor).
I imagined Edward would have felt petrified and panicked as he went into the water. (Sarah).
We designed a detailed illustration/scene from this chapter. (Lexie).

Room 14s Family Heritage Map
Today we learned about immigration into Canada. We mapped our family heritage locations on the world map. Many of our Room 14 families come from Scotland, Ireland and England. People come to Canada from all over the world! We are very lucky to live in Canada. Canada is a multicultural country which means there are many people from other cultures/countries that live here. #WeAreCanadian
